Walking Together for a Cause: The First Moyer Mile

Events October 29th, 2025 Back to Events Blog

Community involvement has always been a cornerstone of who we are at Moyer. From serving customers to supporting local causes, we take pride in giving back in meaningful ways. This fall, our team came together for a very special event: the first-ever Moyer Mile, a company-wide initiative to raise funds and awareness for And What If You Live, an organization dedicated to empowering cancer survivors as they navigate life beyond diagnosis.

The Moyer Mile took place across every branch location, from Souderton to our satellite campuses, with employees walking trails, circling office grounds, and even parading local streets. Signs of encouragement and hope lined the routes, many decorated by team members who have been impacted by cancer. While And What If You Live hosts its official walk each November in New Jersey, Moyer created its own “virtual” version, ensuring that everyone could participate and show their support right here at home.

For some, the cause was personal. “My nephew Aidan is 23 and was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma,” shared Marsha, a Moyer team member. “They found it in his chest, neck, and arm, and it’s stage 3 at this point. This motivated me to walk to show support for him.”

Others walked in solidarity, driven by empathy and hope for a cure. “My family has been lucky not to be directly affected by cancer,” said Christine“But there are people I care about who have been. More research still needs to happen, and this is such a great cause.”

The event was inspired by a friendship that began over 20 years ago between Amanda Moyer and Ray Janeen Stevens, founder of And What If You Live. Sharing a deep commitment to family, faith, and giving back, Amanda and Ray have joined forces to support patients surviving cancer diagnoses.

A cancer survivor herself, Ray Janeen is a certified life coach dedicated to helping others find hope and healing after a diagnosis. Through And What If You Live, she empowers survivors to move beyond treatment, rebuild confidence, and rediscover a sense of direction and purpose in their lives.

Beyond the walk, volunteers at Moyer also created care packages and handwritten letters of encouragement for cancer patients at Doylestown Hospital undergoing chemotherapy. These thoughtful gestures are small but powerful reminders that no one fights alone.

The Moyer Mile is just one example of the many ways Moyer invests in our people and communities. We continue to proudly support Tunnel to Towers, hosting fundraising luncheons and even designing a special product to benefit the foundation’s mission of honoring America’s heroes. We’re also long-time supporters of Habitat for Humanity—Chester County, the Keystone Opportunity Center (where we help provide heating oil to families in need), the Souderton-Telford Chapter of Rotary International, and the Indian Valley Public Library. Through our partnership with PGA Phila, Moyer also sponsors tournaments benefiting PGA Reach, expanding access to the game of golf for children and veterans alike.

The Moyer Mile may have been our first, but it’s only the beginning of a partnership and a purpose that keeps us all moving forward together.
