Doylestown is a borough in Bucks County, PA with a population of around 8,380. Doylestown was founded in 1745 when William Doyle built a tavern at the northwest corner of Main & State Street. It was known as William Doyle’s Tavern. The borough was eventually renamed to Doylestown after William Doyle. In 1869, Doylestown established a water works and the first phone line arrived in 1878. The courthouse was also built in the year 1878.
