Newtown is a township located in Bucks County, PA with a population of around 19,299. William Penn purchased land in the area in 1683 which led to the formation of the township. Newtown was originally named “my New Township” which later became known as Newtown Township. Newtown was the county seat of Bucks County from 1726-1813 when it was moved to Doylestown. The township also surrounds Newtown Borough.
