Deer Repellent FAQ

What smells do deer hate?
Deer have sensitive noses and are deterred by strong, pungent odors, including garlic, clove oil and peppermint.

When should deer repellent be applied?
The best time to apply deer repellent is in early spring, when your trees and shrubs come out of winter dormancy, and continue throughout the summer into early fall. This timing helps protect your plants during their most vulnerable periods. Arborvitaes and other species of trees and shrubs will benefit best from a winter application. Our technicians will make the best choice based on your landscape.

Does rain wash off deer repellent?
Our deer repellent is designed to be long-lasting and rain-resistant. Our repellent typically remains effective through light to moderate rain. Heavy or frequent rainfall might require more frequent applications.

How often should you spray deer repellent?
Application frequency depends on several factors, including rainfall, the growth rate of your plants and deer activity. We recommend reapplying the repellent every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain its effectiveness.
