Bed bugs. Just reading those two words can make you cringe. It’s bad enough if you find them in your hotel room. But if you think you have bed bugs in your home or business? That’s the worst case scenario.

Bed bugs are known as nature’s hitchhikers and if you have them in your home or place of business, it’s likely they made their way into your belongings or on your clothing while you were traveling or spending time in a public place. You wouldn’t even notice since they’re so small and flat. They’re so flat that if there’s a space where you can fit a credit card, you can fit a bed bug.

“They came out and removed my wasp nest fast. I will definitely use them again when/if the bees come back. Perfect contact less work from beginning to end!”

Signs of Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are tiny and nocturnal, so it’s not likely you’ll be able to see them in daylight. Look for these signs:

  • Blood stains on bedding
  • Dark brown spots on bedding or mattress
  • Presence of a smell that is musty or like rotting berries

You may be tempted to try and get rid of bed bugs on your own but that’s taking a big chance. Bed bugs reproduce rapidly. A female bed bug can lay up to five eggs every day.

Don’t lose sleep or revenue. If you suspect your property has bed bugs it’s time to call in the reinforcements of a pest control company.

It’s time to call Moyer Pest Control.

When you’re facing a bed bug problem you need an effective solution – fast. We offer several bed bug control treatment options, including conventional, heat and the use of Apprehend®, a natural biopesticide.

Bed Bug Extermination The Moyer Way

Here’s what you can expect from our treatment plans:

Inspection

Our highly trained technician will perform a thorough inspection to verify the presence of bed bugs. We’ll begin with the room you suspect of having bed bug activity, focusing first on the “hot spots” – mattresses, headboards, and furniture. Then we’ll continue the inspection to include other rooms, even the entire property if necessary.

Small-level Infestation

The liquid treatment for a small-level bed bug infestation includes an initial treatment visit and a follow-up treatment visit 14-21 days later.

Medium-level Infestation

The liquid treatment for a medium-level bed bug infestation is the same, with an initial treatment visit and a follow-up treatment visit 14-21 days later. We are conscious of using pest control products that are safe for use around humans and pets.

During each treatment our technicians will apply professional-grade insecticides and spot treatments in targeted areas of your home or business including mattresses, upholstered furniture, and other common hotspots for bed bug activity.

You will have to wait about 4 hours before you can re-enter your home or business after each liquid treatment.

Heat Treatment

Our heat treatment is used to control a high-level bed bug infestation. We use a professional thermal remediation treatment with equipment specially designed to heat your home or business to a high temperature. This process will effectively eliminate both adult bed bugs and bed bug eggs and the treatment session takes about 6-8 hours to complete.

Preparing for Treatment

Thankfully, there is little to no preparation required on your part prior to one of our bed bug treatments. Our new “no preparation” bed bug treatment is designed to make things easier on you and to help make our treatments even more effective.

This “no preparation” method helps to solve one of the most common problems that arise when treating for bed bugs, which is when personal items are removed prior to treatment and then brought back into the home or commercial space. Too often the bed bugs present on those items come right back into the space. We ask you to keep all items in the treatment spaces. This allows our technicians to better inspect for harborage sites and deliver a much more effective treatment.

After Treatment

We have a monitoring and follow-up process in place to make sure each cycle of treatments is successful.

Monitoring

We will place various interception devices in the rooms that received treatment to help detect bed bug movement, show possible harborage areas and help reduce female bed bug movement.

Follow-up

If you notice any evidence that bed bugs are still in your home or business, please contact us right away. Our technicians will come out, complete a thorough inspection and make necessary recommendations.
